About the Role:
We’re seeking a top-tier conversion copywriter with proven experience crafting compelling email campaigns and ad copy for eCommerce and DTC brands. This role is email-heavy (80%) with some focus on ad copy (20%). You thrive in a fast-paced, agency environment, managing multiple projects across diverse clients without sacrificing quality or clarity.
You’re a strategic storyteller who can seamlessly adapt to varied brand voices, creating high-converting copy that resonates with target audiences. You’re skilled at leveraging AI tools like ChatGPT or Claude to streamline content creation while maintaining a strong human touch.
THIS IS Copywriting-first-role
This is a copywriting-first role — you won’t need to analyze performance metrics, but you will be expected to incorporate data-driven learnings and converting marketing principles into your copy, iterating based on feedback and A/B test results.
Responsibilities:
Writing for Email Campaigns & Flows (80%):
Write, edit, and optimize email copy that captures attention, drives action, and maintains brand integrity.
Develop conversion-focused email campaign copy (engaging content, product highlights, product launches, sales, etc) following an approved email calendar.
Develop conversion-focused email flow copy email (welcome, post-purchase, abandon cart, etc.) tailored to each brand’s unique voice and objectives.
Craft A/B testing variations for subject lines, preview text, CTAs, and body copy with a focus on increasing engagement and conversions.
Maintain an up-to-date copy bank for each client, referencing top-performing emails to inform ongoing projects.
Writing for Paid Ads (20%):
Write and/or edit concise, persuasive ad copy for Facebook, Instagram, and other paid media channels.
Adapt messaging to align with ad objectives and audience segments, incorporating brand guidelines and conversion frameworks.
Creative Research & Visual Pairing:
Identify effective copy and visual trends through ongoing creative research in the eCommerce and DTC space.
Review competitor campaigns, analyzing what’s working, and bring those insights into actionable creative recommendations.
Pair copy with general visual direction and outline for design teams, ensuring cohesion between messaging and creative assets.
AI & Performance Optimization:
Strategic Prompting & Editing: Develop and refine high-quality AI prompts to generate initial drafts, maintaining brand voice and strategic objectives. The value lies in the thinking — crafting intelligent prompts and meticulously editing AI-generated content to elevate it to a world-class standard.
Content Refinement: Leverage AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Jasper) to support the writing process — not to replace it. Review, refine, and elevate AI-generated drafts to align with conversion goals and brand guidelines.
Data-Driven Adaptation: Apply learnings from A/B tests, campaign and team feedback to refine messaging. Use AI for rapid iteration while maintaining consistency and quality.
Quality Assurance & Management:
Triple-check every piece of copy for clarity, flow, and adherence to brand guidelines.
Ensure consistency across deliverables, maintaining high standards even when managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Collaborate with designers to align copy with visual assets, ensuring cohesive storytelling across all channels.
To be considered you must check these boxes:
Experience: 3+ years of conversion-focused copywriting for DTC/eCommerce brands, ideally within an agency setting.
Experience writing converting copy for Email and Ads (DTC, Facebook and Instagram Ads, Klaviyo, etc).
Portfolio: a proven record and portfolio showcasing email campaigns and ad copy that drive conversions while maintaining brand authenticity.
Creative Research: Proven ability to analyze industry and competitor trends, identify high-performing content, and apply learnings to new projects.
Technical Adaptability: Comfortable using AI tools like ChatGPT, Jasper, or Claude to streamline content production while maintaining a strong human touch.
Execution: Proven ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and balance speed with quality.
Communication: Impeccable written English with a strong grasp of tone, nuance, and cultural sensitivity.
Work Style: Thrive in a fast-paced, multi-client environment with a laid-back, inclusive team that values individuality.
Time Zone & Location Requirements:
Must be able to work full-time within U.S. time zones and business hours.
Priority given to applicants in Latin America and the Philippines.
Fluent English (written & spoken) is required.
